It’s not very often that a Mexican American-themed cartoon comes around, which is why when one does come around, we try to support it. After all, Latinos make up 17 percent of the U.S. population. Is it too much to ask for an occasional cartoon? We don’t think so.
That’s why we’re so excited about The Casagrandes. According to its official website, The Casagrandes tells the story of Ronnie Anne, an independent, adventurous, 11-year-old who explores city life with her big, loving, multi-generational Mexican-American family.
The show is a spinoff of The Loud House, and features a number of high profile voices, including Izabella Alvarez, Carlos PenaVega, Eugenio Derbez, Ken Jeong, Melissa Joan Hart, Leah Mei Gold, and Lexi Sexton.
Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? If early expectations and reviews are any indication, the show has the potential to be a win for Latino-themed programming.
